Balance Sheet - Assets

Think about it, what is a skill - Wikpedia defines a skill as:  A skill is the learned capacity to carry out pre-determined results often with the minimum outlay of time, energy, or both.   Is the ability to persuade a skill? Is the ability to solve problems a skill? You bet they are, and they are highly transferable skills that typically impact positively on the bottom line.

Selling skills perfected and acquired over time allow a person to transition into many different marketing or sales situations without much training effort on the part of the employer.

For example, I once had the opportunity to develop an entirely new work flow for processing engineering changes on "how to build the aircraft" for a major aircraft manufacture. This resulted in a multi million-dollar win because the skills were there to:
  • Uncover holes in a process
  • Become a trusted advisor
  • Present a concept on process improvement
  • Bring together both customer and company resources
  • Execute the strategy
These are the same basic skills needed in most instances to win business and contribute to the company's bottom line no matter what the product or service.

Other transferable skills I possess relevant to enhancing the bottom line is the ability to:
  • Establish new business relationships to create demand, expand market share, and increase sales
  • Develop and manage new territories both local and regional introducing new products and services
  • Develop and train sales channels
  • Perform needs assessment
  • Practice "solution" and "consultative" selling methodologies
  • Sell "value" backed up by "ROI" analysis and justification
  • Manage the complete sales cycle
    • needs analysis
    • sales presentations
    • contract negotiation and on-going account management at all levels; executive/senior management, middle management, and administrative
